Description

A soothing and aromatic ginger tea made with fresh ginger, spices, and lemon.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (1-inch) ginger root (peeled, rough chopped)
  • 3 cups water
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • ¼ teaspoon ground turmeric
  • 1 pinch cayenne pepper
  • 3 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon honey (optional)

Instructions

  1. Add ginger and water to a saucepan and bring to a boil.
  2. Once boiling, add the cinnamon stick, turmeric, and cayenne pepper.
  3. Reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for 10 minutes.
  4. Stir in the lemon juice.
  5. Pour through a strainer into a mug, discarding any solids.
  6. Add honey to taste.
