A delightful twist on traditional tiramisu featuring fresh strawberries and mascarpone cheese.

- 2 cups ripe strawberries, hulled and sliced
- 1 cup mascarpone cheese
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup strong brewed coffee, cooled
- ½ cup coffee liqueur (optional)
- 24 ladyfingers
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Cocoa powder, for dusting
- Fresh mint leaves, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine sliced strawberries and ¼ cup of the granulated sugar. Let them sit for about 20 minutes to release their juices.
- In a mixing bowl, combine mascarpone cheese and the remaining sugar. Beat with an electric mixer until smooth. Slowly add the heavy whipping cream and vanilla extract. Continue beating until soft peaks form.
- In a shallow dish, mix the cooled coffee and coffee liqueur (if using) together.
- Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the coffee mixture, ensuring they absorb some coffee but don’t become too soggy.
- In a trifle dish or rectangular dish, place a layer of soaked ladyfingers at the bottom. Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers.
- Spoon half of the macerated strawberries over the mascarpone mixture to create an even layer.
- Add another layer of soaked ladyfingers, followed by the remaining mascarpone mixture, and finish with the rest of the strawberries on top.
- Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight for the best flavor and texture.
- Just before serving, dust the top with cocoa powder for a classic finish.
- Optional—garnish with fresh mint leaves for an extra pop of color and freshness.
Notes
- For best results, make the tiramisu the night before serving to allow the flavors to meld.
- Adjust the amount of sugar based on the sweetness of the strawberries.
