Description
A deliciously gooey loaf cake filled with salted caramel.

- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- ½ cup cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup salted caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)
- ¼ teaspoon sea salt (for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a loaf pan.
- Cream Butter and Sugar: In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add Eggs and Vanilla: Beat in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract. Ensure everything is well combined.
- Mix Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
- Combine Mixtures: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
- Add Caramel Sauce: Gently fold in ¾ cup of salted caramel sauce, ensuring it’s evenly distributed but not overmixed.
- Pour half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan, smoothing it out evenly.
- Drizzle the remaining ¼ cup of caramel sauce over the batter in the pan.
- Carefully pour the remaining batter over the caramel layer, smoothing it out.
- Place the loaf pan in the preheated oven and bake for 40-45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out mostly clean (the center should remain slightly gooey).
- Remove from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10-15 minutes. Then, transfer the loaf to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Before serving, sprinkle a touch of sea salt on top for an added flavor kick.
Notes
- This cake is best served warm with a scoop of ice cream.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
