Description

Deliciously crispy puff pastry wheels stuffed with pizza flavor, perfect as an appetizer or snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package puff pastry sheets (17 oz)
  • ¼ cup pizza sauce (Easy Homemade Pizza Sauce)
  • 1 cup Italian cheese blend, finely grated
  • 40 pepperonis, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Garlic powder, to taste
  • Onion powder, to taste
  • Parsley, for garnish (optional)
  • 4 teaspoons Italian seasoning

Instructions

  1. Set your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper to prevent sticking and ensure even baking.
  2. Unfold the puff pastry sheets carefully on a floured surface to prevent them from sticking.
  3. Evenly spoon the pizza sauce over each puff pastry sheet, leaving a small border around the edges.
  4. Sprinkle the finely grated Italian cheese blend generously on top of the sauce.
  5. Arrange the thinly sliced pepperonis evenly over the cheese layer.
  6. Lightly sprinkle with parsley if using, to add freshness and color.
  7. Carefully roll each puff pastry sheet into a log, starting from one edge, to encapsulate the toppings inside.
  8. Brush each log with olive oil and sprinkle with garlic powder, onion powder, and Italian seasoning to enhance flavor and crispness.
  9. Using a sharp knife, cut each log into 12 equal wheels about 1/2 inch thick.
  10. Place the wheels cut side up on the prepared baking sheets, spacing them evenly.
  11. Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes until the pastry is puffed and golden brown.
  12. Allow to cool slightly, then serve warm or at room temperature as a delightful appetizer or snack.
