Simple Marinara Sauce

Description

A quick and easy homemade marinara sauce recipe that is perfect for pasta and more!


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon garlic (minced, about 3 large cloves)
  • 1 28-ounce can crushed San Marzano tomatoes
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil (minced)

Instructions

  1. In a large Dutch oven over medium heat, add the olive oil. Once shimmering, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 2 minutes, or until translucent.
  2. Add the crushed tomatoes, sugar, salt, and Italian seasoning. Simmer on low for about 15 minutes or until slightly thickened, stirring occasionally.
  3. Add the chopped basil and cook while stirring for another 2 minutes then remove from the heat.
  4. Use immediately, or let cool and store in jars or an airtight container. Enjoy!
