- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 packet taco seasoning mix
- 2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded
- 3 cups tortilla chips, crushed
- 1 can black beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 cup salsa
- 1 cup diced tomatoes
- 1 green bell pepper, chopped
- 1/2 cup sliced black olives
- 1 cup lettuce, shredded

Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cook the Beef: In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Season the Beef: Add the taco seasoning mix and a little water (about 1/4 cup) to the beef. Stir well and let it simmer for a few minutes until the seasoning is fully incorporated.
- Layer the Ingredients: In a 9×13 inch baking dish, spread a layer of crushed tortilla chips on the bottom. Add half of the seasoned beef mixture, followed by half of the black beans, a layer of salsa, and a layer of shredded cheddar cheese. Repeat the layers with the remaining beef, beans, salsa, and cheese.
- Bake: Place the casserole dish in the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Topping: Remove from the oven and top with diced tomatoes, chopped green bell pepper, sliced olives, jalapeño slices, and shredded lettuce.
- Serve: Serve hot with a dollop of sour cream on the side and garnish with chopped green onions.

- For extra flavor, consider adding a layer of refried beans.
- To make it spicier, use hot salsa and add extra jalapeños.
- Ground turkey or chicken can be used as a lighter alternative to beef.
