Tips for Making Perfect Instant Pot Pizza
Creating instant pot pizza at home is an adventure that combines convenience and creativity. With just a few strategies, you can elevate your pizza-making game and impress your friends (or yourself!).
Ensuring the right dough thickness
Striking the ideal dough thickness is crucial for that perfect bite. Aim for about 1/2 inch to 3/4 inch, which will allow it to cook evenly without being too thick or doughy. Don’t forget that the steam from the Instant Pot will make it puff up a bit! If you’re unsure, try rolling out a small piece first to test.
Balancing sauces and toppings
Finding the right balance between sauce and toppings is essential for a harmonious flavor. Start with a light layer of sauce to avoid sogginess, then distribute just enough cheese to cover. For toppings, think about variety—this is your opportunity to get creative! Fresh ingredients not only taste better but also add a burst of color and nutrition. Consider using a mix of vegetables and proteins while keeping in mind their moisture content.
Using a CrispLid for extra crispness
If you’re longing for a crispy crust, a CrispLid can be your best friend. After your instant pot pizza finishes cooking, pop on the CrispLid for a few extra minutes. This will provide that satisfying crunch, similar to a traditional oven. It’s an easy step that can transform your homemade pizza into a restaurant-quality dish!

FAQs about Instant Pot Pizza
Exploring the world of instant pot pizza can lead to delightful discoveries—and maybe a few questions along the way. Let’s tackle some of the most common inquiries to help you make the best pizza experience possible!
Can I use gluten-free pizza dough?
Absolutely! Making instant pot pizza with gluten-free dough is a great option for those with dietary restrictions. Just look for a high-quality gluten-free pizza dough at your local grocery store, or even try making your own with gluten-free flour blends. The pressure cooking method of the Instant Pot helps the gluten-free dough rise nicely, ensuring a texture that everyone can enjoy.
What if I don’t have an Instant Pot?
If you don’t own an Instant Pot, don’t worry! You can still whip up delicious pizza using a traditional oven. Simply prepare your dough and toppings and bake them in a preheated oven at 450°F (232°C) for 12-15 minutes or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.
How can I store leftover pizza?
Leftover instant pot pizza can be stored easily in the fridge. Place it in an airtight container or wrap individual slices in plastic wrap. For best results, consume it within 2-3 days. If you want to store it longer, consider freezing the slices. Just make sure to use parchment paper between slices to prevent them from sticking together.
Can I customize the toppings?
You can absolutely customize your instant pot pizza! Whether you’re a fan of classic pepperoni, fresh vegetables, or gourmet cheeses, feel free to mix and match to create your ideal slice.
