Description

This recipe provides an easy method to defrost and cook ground beef quickly.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef (frozen)
  • 1 cup water (or broth)

Instructions

  1. Pour water or broth into pan over medium heat with meat. Cover with a lid to heat and steam.
  2. Lift lid and use a spatula every 2 minutes or so to scrape defrosted meat off the outside of the roll. Cover again and continue until all of it has thawed to the middle.
  3. Remove lid and move meat around in the pan to cook until there is no more pink. Then remove from heat source, add seasonings and use as taco meat or add into a casserole.

Notes

  • This method is great for quickly defrosting frozen ground beef without compromising texture.
  • You can use any broth for additional flavor.
