Description

This creamy parmesan garlic sauce is perfect for pasta and quick to make!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 1/2 cups freshly grated parmesan cheese
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter.
  2. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute, until fragrant but not browned.
  3. Slowly pour in the heavy cream, stirring constantly. Bring to a gentle simmer.
  4. Reduce heat to low and whisk in the grated parmesan cheese until melted and smooth.
  5. Season with salt, black pepper, and nutmeg (if using). Continue stirring until the sauce has thickened to your desired consistency.
  6. Remove from heat, garnish with fresh parsley, and serve immediately over pasta or as desired.

Notes

  • This sauce can be adjusted for spice by adding red pepper flakes if desired.
  • Feel free to substitute other cheeses for a different flavor profile.
