Description
This Hawaiian Chicken recipe features tender chicken breasts topped with ham, pineapple, and cheese, all cooked in a delicious soy sauce.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 8 oz boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon pepper
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
- 4 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce
- 6 oz deli sliced ham
- 1 8 oz can pineapple slices, drained
- 4 slices (3 oz) Provolone cheese
Instructions
- Butterfly each chicken breast open, then cut to create 4 thinner pieces of chicken.
- Combine the flour, salt, and pepper in a shallow dish.
- Heat the butter and olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once the butter is melted, dip each piece of chicken in the flour mixture to coat both sides and place in the skillet.
- Cook the chicken until browned, about 5 minutes, then flip to cook the second side. Cook until the chicken is cooked through, another 3-5 minutes, or until it reaches about 160ºF with an instant read thermometer.
- Once the chicken is cooked through, add the soy sauce to the pan and flip the chicken to coat in the sauce.
- Divide the ham between the chicken, then top each with a pineapple ring and then a slice of cheese.
- Turn off the heat and place a lid on the skillet. Let it sit until the cheese is melted.
- Serve immediately.
Notes
