Ingredients
Scale
- 8 ounces fettuccine pasta
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (1 stick)
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup fresh grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Cook the pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil, add fettuccine, and cook until al dente (about 8-10 minutes). Drain, reserving some pasta water.
- Make the sauce: In a skillet over medium heat, melt butter until bubbly. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Combine: Stir in heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Gradually whisk in Parmesan cheese until smooth and creamy.
- Toss with pasta: Add drained fettuccine to the sauce and toss until fully coated. If too thick, add reserved pasta water gradually.

Notes
- This dish can be garnished with additional Parmesan cheese and parsley if desired.
- For a richer flavor, try adding a pinch of nutmeg to the sauce.
