Description
Enjoy your decadent chocolate pecan truffle bites! Perfect for a quick treat or a luxurious gift.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup pecans
- 1 cup chocolate chips (or chopped dark chocolate)
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1 cup icing sugar (for coating)
- 1/2 cup extra pecans, chopped (for garnish)
- Sea salt flakes (for garnish)
Instructions
- Toast the Pecans: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Spread the pecans on a baking sheet and toast them for 5-7 minutes until aromatic. Allow them to cool, then finely chop.
- Prepare the Dough: In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the chocolate chips with unsalted butter. Stir until smooth. In a large bowl, combine melted chocolate with granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract. Mix well. Add the flour and salt, stirring until combined. Stir in the chopped pecans, adding the milk until the mixture comes together as a dough.
- Shape the Truffles: Roll the dough into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter. Roll each truffle in icing sugar to lightly coat.
- Chill: Place the truffles in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to firm up.
- Garnish: Once chilled, drizzle with additional melted chocolate, if desired. Sprinkle chopped pecans and sea salt flakes on top for added texture and flavor.
Notes
- Ensure the pecans are completely cool before adding to the dough to prevent the chocolate from seizing.
- Experiment with different types of chocolate (milk, semi-sweet, or dark) depending on your preference.
- For a softer texture, increase the amount of milk slightly while combining the dough.
- Store truffles in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
