- 8 taco shells
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp chili powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or Mexican blend)
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
- Optional toppings: chopped tomatoes, sliced jalapeños, avocado slices
Instructions
- Prepare the Beef Mixture:
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add the chopped onion and garlic, sauté until translucent.
- Add the ground beef, cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon.
- Drain excess fat from the skillet.
- Stir in cumin, paprika, chili powder, salt, and pepper.
- Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until well combined.
- Assemble Tacos:
- Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Place the taco shells on a baking sheet.
- Fill each shell with the cooked beef mixture.
- Top with shredded cheese.
- Bake Tacos:
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 5-7 minutes, until the cheese is melted and the shells are crispy.
- Garnish and Serve:
- Remove from oven and let cool slightly.
- Top each taco with a dollop of sour cream.
- Sprinkle with fresh cilantro and any optional toppings of your choice.
Notes
- For extra flavor, you can add a splash of lime juice to the beef mixture.
- If you prefer spicier tacos, increase the chili powder or add hot sauce.
- Hard taco shells can be substituted with soft tortillas if preferred.
