Description

A delicious recipe for crispy beef tacos with flavorful beef filling and melted cheese.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 500g ground beef
  • 8 taco shells
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp chili powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or Mexican blend)
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • Optional toppings: chopped tomatoes, sliced jalapeños, avocado slices

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Beef Mixture:
    • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
    • Add the chopped onion and garlic, sauté until translucent.
    • Add the ground beef, cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon.
    • Drain excess fat from the skillet.
    • Stir in cumin, paprika, chili powder, salt, and pepper.
    • Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until well combined.
  2. Assemble Tacos:
    • Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).
    • Place the taco shells on a baking sheet.
    • Fill each shell with the cooked beef mixture.
    • Top with shredded cheese.
  3. Bake Tacos:
    • Bake in the preheated oven for about 5-7 minutes, until the cheese is melted and the shells are crispy.
  4. Garnish and Serve:
    • Remove from oven and let cool slightly.
    • Top each taco with a dollop of sour cream.
    • Sprinkle with fresh cilantro and any optional toppings of your choice.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, you can add a splash of lime juice to the beef mixture.
  • If you prefer spicier tacos, increase the chili powder or add hot sauce.
  • Hard taco shells can be substituted with soft tortillas if preferred.
  • Experiment with additional toppings like lettuce or salsa for more variety.
