Description

A delicious and creamy twist on traditional mashed potatoes using pumpkin puree and warm spices.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds russet or Yukon gold potatoes
  • 1 cup canned pumpkin puree
  • 1/2 cup butter (1 stick)
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Peel and chop the potatoes into evenly sized chunks.
  2. Place them in a large pot with cold water and a pinch of salt.
  3. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, then reduce heat and simmer until fork-tender (about 15-20 minutes).
  4. Drain the potatoes and let them steam for 5 minutes to remove excess moisture.
  5. In the same pot, add butter, pumpkin puree, heavy cream, salt, pepper, nutmeg, and cinnamon.
  6. Mash until smooth.
  7. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.
  8. Serve warm in a bowl, drizzled with melted butter or garnished with fresh herbs if desired.
