Description

A delicious creamy garlic shrimp platter perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian herbs (basil, oregano, thyme)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)
  • Lemon wedges (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Shrimp:
    • Rinse the shrimp under cold water and pat dry with paper towels.
    • Season with salt, pepper, and paprika.
  2. Sauté the Shrimp:
    • In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat.
    • Add shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until pink and opaque.
    • Remove shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
  3. Make the Creamy Garlic Sauce:
    • In the same skillet, add butter and let it melt.
    • Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
    • Pour in the heavy cream, and stir well, bringing it to a gentle simmer.
    • Gradually whisk in the Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth.
    • Add dried Italian herbs, and season with salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Combine and Serve:
    • Return the cooked shrimp to the skillet, tossing to coat them in the sauce.
    • Simmer for another 2-3 minutes until the shrimp are heated through.
    • Transfer the creamy garlic shrimp onto a serving platter.
  5. Garnish and Serve:
    • Garnish with chopped fresh parsley.
    • Serve with lemon wedges on the side.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add a splash of white wine to the sauce before adding the cream.
  • If you prefer a thicker sauce, allow it to simmer for a few more minutes until it reaches the desired consistency.
  • Serve with crusty bread or over pasta for a complete meal.
  • Ensure not to overcook the shrimp to keep them tender and juicy.
