- 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 6 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon dried Italian herbs (basil, oregano, thyme)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)
- Lemon wedges (for serving)
Instructions
- Prepare the Shrimp:
- Rinse the shrimp under cold water and pat dry with paper towels.
- Season with salt, pepper, and paprika.
- Sauté the Shrimp:
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat.
- Add shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until pink and opaque.
- Remove shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
- Make the Creamy Garlic Sauce:
- In the same skillet, add butter and let it melt.
- Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Pour in the heavy cream, and stir well, bringing it to a gentle simmer.
- Gradually whisk in the Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth.
- Add dried Italian herbs, and season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Combine and Serve:
- Return the cooked shrimp to the skillet, tossing to coat them in the sauce.
- Simmer for another 2-3 minutes until the shrimp are heated through.
- Transfer the creamy garlic shrimp onto a serving platter.
- Garnish and Serve:
- Garnish with chopped fresh parsley.
- Serve with lemon wedges on the side.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add a splash of white wine to the sauce before adding the cream.
- If you prefer a thicker sauce, allow it to simmer for a few more minutes until it reaches the desired consistency.
- Serve with crusty bread or over pasta for a complete meal.
