Description

Delicious blueberry glazed donut holes, perfect for a sweet treat!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter
  • 1/2 cup fresh blueberries
  • Oil for frying (canola or vegetable oil)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 23 tablespoons milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Batter:
    • In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
    • In another bowl, mix the milk, egg, and melted butter until well blended.
    • Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined.
    • Gently fold in the blueberries.
  2. Heat the Oil:
    • In a deep pan, heat oil to about 350°F (175°C). Ensure the oil is deep enough for frying.
  3. Fry the Donut Holes:
    • Using a small scoop or spoon, carefully drop small amounts of batter into the hot oil.
    • Fry in batches to avoid overcrowding the pan. Turn occasionally until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
    • Remove from oil using a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
  4. Make the Glaze:
    • In a bowl, mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth. Adjust the thickness with more milk if necessary.
  5. Glaze the Donut Holes:
    • Once slightly cooled, dip each donut hole into the glaze or drizzle it over the top.
    • Allow the glaze to set before serving.

Notes

  • Test the oil temperature with a small drop of batter to ensure it’s ready for frying.
  • Be gentle when folding in blueberries to prevent them from bursting.
  • If you prefer a thicker glaze, add less milk; for a thinner glaze, add more milk.
  • Enjoy fresh for the best texture and flavor.
