Description
Delicious blueberry glazed donut holes, perfect for a sweet treat!
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 large egg
- 1 tablespoon melted butter
- 1/2 cup fresh blueberries
- Oil for frying (canola or vegetable oil)
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2–3 tablespoons milk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Prepare the Batter:
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, mix the milk, egg, and melted butter until well blended.
- Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined.
- Gently fold in the blueberries.
- Heat the Oil:
- In a deep pan, heat oil to about 350°F (175°C). Ensure the oil is deep enough for frying.
- Fry the Donut Holes:
- Using a small scoop or spoon, carefully drop small amounts of batter into the hot oil.
- Fry in batches to avoid overcrowding the pan. Turn occasionally until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
- Remove from oil using a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
- Make the Glaze:
- In a bowl, mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth. Adjust the thickness with more milk if necessary.
- Glaze the Donut Holes:
- Once slightly cooled, dip each donut hole into the glaze or drizzle it over the top.
- Allow the glaze to set before serving.
Notes
- Test the oil temperature with a small drop of batter to ensure it’s ready for frying.
- Be gentle when folding in blueberries to prevent them from bursting.
- If you prefer a thicker glaze, add less milk; for a thinner glaze, add more milk.
- Enjoy fresh for the best texture and flavor.
