Description

A delicious berry flag cake that’s perfect for celebrations.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup milk (whole or 2%)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups heavy whipping cream (chilled)
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries (sliced)
  • 1 cup fresh blueberries
  • 1 cup fresh raspberries

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together milk, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  7. Allow the cake to cool completely in the pan.
  8. In a mixing bowl, beat the heavy whipping cream and powdered sugar until stiff peaks form.
  9. Once the cake is cool, spread the whipped cream evenly over the top.
  10. Arrange the sliced strawberries in the shape of the flag’s stripes and place blueberries in the top left corner.
  11. Garnish with raspberries to complete the flag design.
  12. Slice and serve chilled.
